PINE BLUFF, Ark. -- Allen Smith scored 21 points, highlighted by five 3-pointers, as Arkansas-Pine Bluff defeated Southern University 64-51 on Saturday night.
The Golden Lions (5-19, 5-7 SWAC) made 10 of their 19 3-point attempts, good for 53 percent, and shot 56 percent overall from the field.
Daniel Broughton scored 12 points and Terrell Kennedy added 10 for Arkansas-Pine Bluff, which made 56 percent from the field overall.
The victory snapped a two-game skid for the Golden Lions as they picked up a much needed conference win. UAPB will play host to Alcorn State on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
