#UAPBBasketball: Golden Lions Host Pink Out & High School Day SWAC Doubleheader vs. Alcorn State

PINE BLUFF, AR. — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's and women's basketball teams return to H.O. Clemmons Arena on Saturday, February 7, 2025, for a Southwestern Athletic Conference doubleheader against the Alcorn State Braves.

Saturday's games will also serve as Pink Out and High School Day, as UAPB encourages all high schools and Golden Lions Nation to wear pink in support of the event.

The women's game tips off at 3:00 p.m., followed by the men's contest at 5:30 p.m. Both games will be streamed live on YouTube via the Golden Lions Sports Network.

Men's Basketball Preview
The UAPB men enter Saturday's matchup riding a three-game winning streak and sit 6–3 in SWAC play, currently second in the conference standings. The Golden Lions are coming off an impressive 67–64 road victory at Grambling State Tigers.

Defense proved to be the difference in that win, as UAPB held Grambling State to just 12 percent shooting from three-point range and 39.1 percent from the field overall. The Golden Lions also forced 15 turnovers, recording seven combined steals and blocks, showcasing their defensive intensity and discipline.

Alcorn State enters the contest coming off a 74–50 loss to Grambling State, led by Jameel Morris, who scored 15 points.

Women's Basketball Preview
The UAPB women's team enters Saturday with confidence following a two-game winning streak, sitting inside the top five of the conference standings, highlighted by a 74–68 victory over Jackson State. The win snapped a 16-game losing streak against the Tigers and marked the Lady Lions' first victory in the series since 2018.

The Lady Lions have been fueled by strong guard play and defensive effort. Indiyia Bowen led the way with 18 points, followed by Jasmine Davis with 12 points and Jailah Pelly with 11 points. Freshman Jakyra Jackson added 10 points and three steals, providing a spark on both ends of the floor.
