Oklahoma City, OK.- Sophomore pitcher Danika Bryant, a Chandler, Arizona native, has been named the Southwestern Athletics Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week. The announcement was made by the league on March 4.

Bryant had a successful weekend at the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic in Oklahoma City, OK. She plays a crucial role in UAPB's performance at the top spot in the SWAC Conference in pitching era (2.57).

Bryant pitched a perfect game no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, leading the UAPB Lady Lions to an 11-0 victory over the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies at the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic. She finished the two-day tournament with 20 strikeouts and two wins. Her performance was the second perfect game thrown in the program's history.

UAPB will play at home on Wednesday, March 6, at the Torii Hunter Softball Complex against Saint Francis. The game is scheduled to start at 2 pm CT.
