The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's soccer team will host Oral Roberts at Pumphrey Soccer Complex for their second consecutive non-conference game Sunday, August 22 at 1 p.m. The Lady Lions looking to bounce back after a competitive season opener at home versus Little Rock.
In the match versus the Trojans the Lady Lions were led by freshmen Natalie Freeman and Kailey Wehrmann who made their college debuts. Freeman led the team with two shot attempts and goalkeeper Wehrmann had 11 saves for UAPB.
"I felt like we were further along than when we finished last season, I just feel really good about the effort we put forth and the determination from the team," said Head Coach Erik Solberg.Â
The game will be open to the public and masks mandated for all spectators present.
"We are already competitive with a team that has won championships in recent years, so we want to close that gap, and we still have ten games before the SWAC (Southwestern Athletic Competition) to get better," said Coach Solberg.Â
Live stats will be available at uapblionsroar.com/soccer or on the UAPB Athletics App.
