LITTLE ROCK, AR – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's soccer team earned its first victory of the season Friday evening, shutting out Lyon College 2-0 at Burns Park.
The Lady Lions (1-1) struck early and never looked back.
How It Happened
UAPB broke the scoreless tie in the 17th minute when Peighton Hardy netted her first goal of the season off an assist from Arie Parker.
Just after halftime, the Lady Lions doubled their lead in the 46th minute as Parker tallied her first goal of the season, with assists credited to Ashley McGuire and Keissy Hopes-Lopez.
The Golden Lions defense held strong the rest of the way, keeping Lyon off the scoreboard to secure the clean sheet.
