PINE BLUFF, AR. -The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's soccer team turned in a strong offensive performance Tuesday, cruising to a 5-1 victory over Central Baptist at Pumphrey Stadium.
The victory improved the Lady Lions to 1-3 overall on the season.
How It Happened
UAPB struck first in the 12th minute when Nevaeh McIntosh found the back of the net for her third goal of the season. Trinity Moffett provided the assist to give the Lady Lions an early 1-0 advantage.
Central Baptist responded in the 40th minute as Gaviota Urias scored to even the match at 1-1.
The tie did not last long. Just three minutes later, Zakhariah Jones scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Moffett, sending the Lady Lions into halftime with a 2-1 lead.
UAPB took complete control after the break.
Dallas Rosby extended the lead to 3-1 in the 49th minute with her second goal of the season, assisted by McIntosh.
Peighton Hardy followed with her second goal of the season in the 57th minute, connecting off an assist from Ava Sanchez to push the advantage to 4-1.
Moffett capped the scoring in the 73rd minute with her first goal of the season. Sanchez picked up her second assist of the match on the play, securing the 5-1 victory for the Lady Lions.
