ITTA BENA, Miss. – On the road again this weekend is the University of Arkansas At Pine Bluff football team as it faces the final regular season road test Saturday at Mississippi Valley State.

It will be the third time this season Golden Lion football will be shown on ESPN3, with kickoff scheduled for 3:05 p.m. at Rice-Totten Stadium.

The UAPB Sports Network radio broadcast begins at 2:30 p.m. on 99.3 FM The Beat, online at uapblionsroar.com/live, and on the free UAPB Athletics App.

The Golden Lions have been road warriors, posting two impressive road wins at Southern (33-30 on March 6) and at Grambling (48-21 on March 20). QB Skyler Perry has passed for 569 yards and six touchdowns and also has a pair of rushing touchdowns in spearheading the UAPB offense.

In earning SWAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors against Grambling, Perry passed for a career-high 348 yards and a career-best four touchdowns in the GSU win. WRs Josh Wilkes (6 rec, 131 yards, 1 TD) and Harry Ballard III (7-124-1) each went over the century mark in receiving, and TE Jeremy Brown caught a pair of touchdown passes.

DB Jalon Thigpen's 35-yard interception return for touchdown on Grambling's second offensive play set a defensive tone for the Golden Lions. It was Thigpen's second INT in two games this season and sparked a unit that recorded five sacks.

UAPB's Tyrin Ralph leads the SWAC in kickoff returns (25.6 avg) and is third in punt returns (9.3 avg).

The Golden Lions have had a spirited week of preparation in readying to face a Mississippi Valley State team (1-1, 1-1) which will play its home opener and will play its first game since March 14.

The Delta Devils lost at Jackson State 43-7, with the lone touchdown coming off a QB Jalani Eason 11-yard TD run. The Portland State transfer also passed for 117 yards in the contest and had 17 rushes in the game.

Defensive lineman Jerry Garner was a first-team All-SWAC preseason selection who had four tackles, one sack, and one tackle for loss against Jackson St. Keonte' Daniels led the Delta Devils with eight solo tackles in the game.
