The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's and men's basketball teams look to remain undefeated in Southwestern Athletic Conference play in a Saturday hosting Alabama State in the H.O. Clemmons Arena.
The women's game will tip-off at 2 p.m., and the men's game at 5 p.m. Limited seating capacity is available in the H.O. Clemmons Arena, with tickets available for purchase online at uapblionsroar.com/tickets. Fans are required to wear masks, and temperature checks will be conducted.

Joyce Kennerson posted season highs in points (21) and assists (eight) along with two steals in just 21 minutes to lead four Golden Lions in double-figure scoring.

Khadijah Brown (11 points / 12 rebounds / 3 blks) posted her third double-double and fourth game with 10+ rebounds.
Maya Peat (12 points / 11 rebounds/ 2 blks) tallied her first career double-double).
Trasity Totten scored a season-high tying 17 points, including a career-high five made 3s. Sam-Grant scored six points and made 10 rebounds for the second time this season, and third of her career along with a season-high four blocks.

UAPB tied a season-high in points while posting its highest scoring quarters (29 in 1st / 27 in 2nd) and highest scoring half (56). The Lady Lions also had season highs in rebounds (57 / +20 margin) and blocked shots (nine). The post-trio of Brown, Peat, and Sam Grant combined for 29 points, 33 rebounds, and all nine blocks).
The Lady Hornets (1-0, 1-0), who did not play a non-conference schedule, opened their season Monday with a home win over defending SWAC Champion Jackson St. 72-70. Jayla Crawford scored 18 points with seven rebounds and Shmya Ward posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as Alabama State had four players score in double figures. Ayana Emmanuel scored 15 points with seven rebounds, and Farrah Pearson came off the bench to score 15.

The UAPB men (2-8, 1-0) opened league play with a dominant 40-point home win over Miss. Valley St., 92-52.Â
Shaun Doss Jr. earned SWAC Player of the Week honors after posting his second 20-and-10 game, scoring 23 points with a career-high 13 rebounds along with two assists, one steal, and one block. It was Doss' second consecutive 20-point scoring game, his fifth this season, and 11th of his career. Doss also recorded 10 or more rebounds for the third straight game.

Dequan Morris scored a season-high 18 points with five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Markedric Bell scored 14 points with five rebounds, and a season-high five assists.
Terrance Banyard scored a season-high 10 points with four rebounds, one steal and one blocked shot.
Joshuwan Johnson scored eight points with four rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

UAPB had a season-high 22 assists leading to a season-high point total and its highest point total in a SWAC game since a 94-57 home win over Miss. Valley on Mar. 3, 2018. The Golden Lions also had season highs in rebounds (49) and rebound margin (+11).

Similar to its women's team, the Alabama St. men also did not play a non-conference schedule. The Hornets (0-2, 0-2) opened their season with back-to-back home SWAC losses to Grambling St. (66-49) and Jackson St. (60-44) last weekend.
