The University of Arkansas At Pine Bluff football team will play its third road game in four weeks as it gets set to take on the Tennessee State Tigers at Hale Stadium.
HOW TO LISTEN, ATTEND:
The Golden Lions have been explosive in the past two games with back-to-back 50-point games and nearly 1,100 yards of total offense. As well as the offense has performed in scoring 105 points, UAPB head coach
Cedric Thomas believes the numbers should be higher.
"I think it should be more," Thomas said. "I honestly believe we should score every time we get it, as long as we execute at a high level. It's just a great staff. Offensive coordinator
Jermaine Gales is one of the brilliant offensive minds not only in this league, but college football period. You watch those guys fellowship over plays after practice and they're always cooking up something."
The Tigers have put up big numbers as well, scoring 44 points and amassing 530 yards total offense in nearly erasing a 21-point deficit. TSU currently averages 32 points and 481 yards per game. While the defense has allowed 40+ points in back-to-back games, they feature big-time playmakers.
"They are a very explosive team on offense," Thomas said. "Defensively they are very sound. They have a lot of athletic and physical guys up front. At outside linebacker, (Rhashaun Epting) runs around and makes a bunch of plays. (Dajour Nesbeth) at is one of the better defensive backs in the OVC."
