Soccer Drops Exhibition Match to Arkansas State

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's soccer team played its only exhibition match of the preseason on Tuesday, losing 3-0 to Arkansas St.

The match was divided into three 30-minute periods. The Lady Lions had 10 new players see action for the first time. Freshman goalie Trinity Taylor snatched her first save of her collegiate career in the second period. Senior Sarah Wright stepped in for Taylor with two saves in the second and third period.

"I was very pleased with the effort we gave in our first match of the season," said first-year head coach Jeremy Winzer. "We got a chance to play a lot of young talent before we play our first regular-season match."
UAPB opens its 2019 season next Thursday, August 22 at home against Central Baptist College at 5 p.m.
