Soccer Set To Take On Pair of Conference Road Games

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff soccer team will continue their conference schedule this weekend with matches at Alcorn St. Friday at 4 p.m. and at Mississippi Valley St. Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Lady Lions opened conference play at home last weekend with a loss to Alabama A&M before defeating Alabama St. for the first time since 2015.

"The ladies are coming off a good win last weekend, and I think they are fired up," said first-year UAPB head coach Jeremy Winzer. "If we can pick up another 3 points, that will be huge for us. Hopefully we can pick up where we left off and be ready to play."

Senior Sarah Wright and junior Alexis Sanders both lead UAPB with three goals apiece. On the defensive side, freshman Trinity Taylor sits fourth in the conference in saves per game with 58 saves and ranks third in the conference averaging 6.44 saves per game.
