PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Arkansas-Pine Bluff wasted no time and took care of business with a 84-51 blowout over Champion Christian College in newly renovated H.O. Clemmons Arena. Senior guard Martaveous McKnight finished the game with a triple-double and scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and produced 10 steals in the win.

-After several months of renovation, this was the second game played at H.O. Clemmons Arena (home gymnasium for UAPB) (Lady Lions defeated Tougaloo in the first game of the doubleheader)
-UAPB led 40-28 at the break
-Senior guard Martaveous McKnight, who is the reigning SWAC Player of the Year, produced a triple-double (18 points, 10 rebounds, 10 steals)
-Senior guard Charles Jackson was red hot from downtown and buried a total of five 3-pointers in the victory as he finished with 17 points
-Jackson scored nearly all of UAPB's three-pointers`
-UAPB's Shaun Doss chipped in with 12 points 
-Christian Robertson and Isaac Bassey both contributed with eight points apiece for the Golden Lions
-McKnight also added eight assists for UAPB
-UAPB outscored Champion Christian 48-23 in the second half
-UAPB outrebounded CCC 44-33
-Both teams produced a total of three scorers in double figures
-As a team UAPB shot 45 percent from the field for the game
-The Golden Lions forced 26 CCC turnovers compared to just 13 for UAPB 


UAPB (3-7) returns to action on Thursday, December 20 as it travels to Texas to face the University of North Texas. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Denton.
