BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Karissa Fenwick have been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference as Soccer Players of the Week for their outstanding performance in competition during September 23-25.

Karissa scored two goals in a 2-0 win over Jackson State on Friday and assisted the game winner over Southern on Sunday.  The first came when she chipped the keeper under pressure from her outside shoulder just outside the edge of the box.  Her second goal came when she stole the ball from an outside back and outran JSU defenders to slot a ball in for her second goal.  

Sunday, the Lusby, Md. native beat Southern behind to set up several scoring opportunities and later received an assist early in the first half when she beat the outside defender down the line.  The pass was brought down by Cierra Fenwick and scored for the second UAPB goal of the game that turned out to be the game winner.
