Box Score PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (Nov. 6) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Alabama State in the 2016 Southwestern Athletic Conference Soccer Championship game, here Sunday morning at the Prairie View A&M Soccer Complex/Athletics Facilities.

ASU took a 1-0 lead into halftime with Ariela Lewis scoring at the 23:00 mark of the first half on an assist from Mercedes Padilla.

Lewis scored her second goal of the contest at the 62:33 mark of the contest giving the Lady Hornets, a 2-0 lead in the contest.

UAPB cut ASU's lead to 2-1 with her goal at the 72:55 mark of the contest.

The Lady Lions was led by both
Karissa Fenwick and Allison Herrison as they both finished with three shot attempts, while Maria Jean scored the team's only goal and finished the contest with two shot attempts.Â

Makayla Cowles finished the contest with four saves in 88:58 minutes of work.Â

ASU was led by Lewis as she scored both of Lady Hornets' goals and recorded two shot attempts in the contest. In addition, the Lady Hornets had three other players to record two shot attempts in the contest.

UAPB finished the season with a 9-8-1 overall record and 7-2-1 in conference play. The third most wins in school history. The Lady Lions finished the 2011 season 16-5-1 and finished 13-6 in 2010.
