PRAIRIE VIEW A&M DEFEATS UAPB, 54-29

Box Score WALLER, Texas (Oct. 31) - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football team dropped their sixth straight with a 54-29 loss to Prairie View A&M, here Saturday afternoon at Waller ISD Stadium.
 
The win gives PVAMU their fifth win of the season, making 5-2 overall and 5-1 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, whereas UAPB drops to 1-7 overall and 0-6 in conference play.
 
UAPB scored two TDs in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead in the contest with John Hawkins and Dante McDonald scoring for the Golden Lions.  Hawkins lit up the score board for the Golden Lions on a five-yard TD pass from Brandon Duncan with 7:13 left in the first.  Then Dante McDonald scored on a one-yard TD run with 2:45 to go in the first.
 
PVAMU tied the contest at 14-14 as they scored twice in the second quarter.  John Allen scored the Panthers' first TD of the game on an eight-yard pass from Christian Rosseau with 11:33 left in the quarter.  PVAMU tied the contest at 14-14 on a Demarquo LaStrappe TD pass from Trey Green with 46 seconds left in the quarter.
 
In the third quarter, PVAMU increased their lead to 34-14 as they scored three TDs in the quarter with Green scoring from one yard and five yards out and Johnta Hebert scoring from five yards out.
 
PVAMU scored with in the first five seconds of the fourth quarter on a Green 25-yard TD run, but UAPB would block the PAT and return it 90-plus yards for a two-point conversion, making the score 40-16 in favor of the Panthers.
 
PVAMU scored two more times in the quarter with Panthers scoring on a 60-yard interception return by Cedric Porter and four-yard TD run by De'Auntre Smiley, giving PVAMU a 54-16 lead.
 
The Golden Lions closed out the fourth quarter with Duncan throwing a pair of TD passes to Cameron Williams from eight yards out and to Willie Young from21 yards out for the 54-29 finale.
 
UAPB finished the contest with 374 yards of total offense (66 rushing, 308 passing). This is the second time this season that UAPB finished with 200 or more yards of total offense in a game.
 
Brian Hanldey led the UAPB ground attack with 56 yards on 10 carries with his longest rush being for 16 yards.
 
Duncan is his first collegiate start, passed for 308 yards by completing 15 passes in 30 attempts with three TDs and one interception.
 
Young led the Golden Lion receivers in receptions, while John Hawkins led them in receiving yards.  Young finished the contest with 89 receiving yards on five receptions with a TD, whereas Hawkins finished the contest with 101 receiving yards on three receptions with one TD.
 
Both Trey Green and Courtney Brown led the Panthers' ground attack as they both finished with 46 yards rushing.
 
Green PVAMU's field general finished the contest with 251 yards passing by completing 21 passes in 29 attempts with three TDs.
 
KhaDaniel Hodge led the PVAMU in receiving with 104 yards receiving on six receptions with one TD.
 
Willie Duncan led the UAPB defense with 11 tackles, while Marquice O'Leary led PVAMU's with eight tackles.
