Pine Bluff, AR. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Soccer Team took an early 1-0 lead over Texas A&M -Texarkana, but gave up four second half goals to the Lady Eagles to drop a 4-1 decision at Pumphrey Wednesday afternoon.
Kelsey Every found the net in the 6th minute giving UAPB a lead that would stay all the way up until the halftime break.
Texas A&M- Texarkana came out aggressive to answered in the 47th minute when Jenna Arreola scored on an Leslie Arietta assist to tie the game at 1-1. The Lady Eagles added two straight goals from Sam Sharpnack-Isom in the 68
th and 84
th mark to push the lead 3-1. The Lady Eagles added their final goal in the 86th minute to seal the 4-1 win.
Texas A&M- Texarkana posted a 22-3 advantage over UAPB in shots on goal. UAPB's
Brittany Roberts made a game high 18 saves for the Lady Lions.
UAPB will play their next two games on the road with the first match taking place against Pac 10 member USC in Los Angeles California on Friday 3 p.m. and then faces Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Arkansas on Sunday, September 21 at 3 p.m.
