Box Score BATON ROUGE, La. -- 
Marcel Mosley scored a career-high 28 points as Arkansas-Pine Bluff won its fifth straight and knocked off conference leader Southern 64-58 on Saturday night at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
Southern jumped out on the Lions 6-0, connecting on two consecutive three pointers. UAPB would not back down, answering on baskets from 
Tevin Hammond and 
Trent Whiting to make the score 8-7 in the 15:00 minute mark.
After both teams exchange leads, UAPB would capitalize off a long range three pointer from 
Marcel Mosley to give the Lions the lead 31-28 at the half.
Coming out the locker room the Lions would continue where they left off , Mosley connecting with another shot behind the arch giving the Lions a 34-28 lead.
"Coming into the game in shoot around this morning, I felt Marcel and Tevin will rally around the team and have a good game, playing together
" Coach Ivory said.
With less than five minutes left in the game, UAPB jumping to a 12 point lead didn't hold long. After Hammond technical foul for unintentionally spiking the ball, the Jags would soon go on a 11-2 run to put the
Jags within five points, after a four-point play from Southern's YonDarius Johnson to make the score 58-53with 3:13 on the clock.
The Jaguars rallied to make a comeback but Mosley nailed a floater in the paint off an assist from 
Davon Haynes to ice the crowd.
Mosley scored the last six points on a jumper and 4 of 4 free throws in the final 1:39 as the Golden Lions (9-15, 7-5 SWAC) held on for the win. Mosley scored 17 points after halftime.
Southern (14-11, 10-2 SWAC) missed four 3-pointers out of their last six field goal tries and had a four-game win streak end.
Malcolm Miller led the Jaguars with 11 points, Johnson and 
Trelun Banks added 10 each. Southern was held to 36-percent shooting (18-50) and hit only 6 of 21 3-pointers.
Tevin Hammond added 15 points and two steal for the Golden Lions, who shot nearly 48 percent and 
Daniel Broughton led the team in rebounds with six.
As a team UAPB shot 23-for-48 (47.9%) from the field, 6-of-16 (37.5%) from the three point line and 12-of-22 (54.5%) from the charity stripes.
"The team is starting to play together as a team and playing the type of basketball I know we are capable of playing" 
Ivory stated.
The Golden Lions looks to continue their win streak to six, when they travel to Lorman, MS Mon. Feb 17, 7:30 pm against Alcorn St.
