PINE BLUFF -- The UAPB Lady Lions picked up their second win of the season, beating Central Baptist College 2-0 at Pumphrey Stadium on Tuesday. In the win, goalkeeper Alyssa Cobbs picked up her second shutout of the season.

Traebiyana Dimanche and Czelene Carrera provided the offense for UAPB (2-8). After a scoreless first half, Dimanche got the Lady Lions on the board with a goal in the 56th minute. Celeste Carrera had the assist for UAPB as the Lady Lions took a 1-0 lead.

It didn't take long for the Lady Lions to add to their lead as Czelene Carrera scored an unassisted goal in the 60th minute to make it 2-0. From there, Cobbs did the rest, stopping 10 Central Baptist shots at the goal.

Each team finished the game with 16 shots. Ten of the 16 Lady Lions shots were on-goal.

The Lady Lions will have some time off before taking the pitch again on October 4th on the road against Grambling State in a Southwestern Athletic Conference match.
