PINE BLUFF - A late goal by Lyon College spoiled the home opener for the UAPB Lady Lions on Sunday. The Lady Lions slipped to 0-2 with the 3-2 setback.

With the score tied at 2-2, Maria Alonzo scored the go-ahead goal for Lyon in the 85th minute. The game-winner came less than two minutes after UAPB had tied the game. Traebiyana Bimanche scored the equalizer in the 83rd minute off of an assist by Celeste Carrera.

Lyon opened the scoring in the 25th minute on a goal by Monica Martinez. Lyon maintained the lead into halftime. In the 59th minute, Bimanche scored the first of her two goals, tying the game at 1-1. Then, Martinez notched her second goal of the game in the 80th minute off of an assist by Alonzo, reclaiming the lead for Lyon at 2-1.

Seeking their first win of the season, UAPB heads to Little Rock to face the University of Arkansas-Little Rock. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
