PINE BLUFF -- Alabama State scored two first half goals, then added another in the final 45 minutes en route to a 3-1 win over the Lady Lions on Sunday afternoon. The loss capped Homecoming weekend on the UAPB campus.

Alexandria Cannon scored the first goal for the Lady Hornets in the 27th minute. Then, Anastasia McCleary added the second goal in the 31st minute. Ariela Lewis made it 3-0 Alabama State (11-6) with a goal in the 54th minute with an assist from Cannon.

The Lady Lions' (2-12-2) lone goal came in the 82nd minute as Traebiyana Dimanche scored.

Alyssa Cobbs finished the game with six saves, while ASU keeper Kylee Hathaway had three stops. The Lady Hornets outshot UAPB 17-11.

The Lady Lions head to the Lone Star State next weekend for a pair of conference matches. UAPB visits Prairie View A&M on Friday, then faces Texas Southern on Sunday.
