There was a scramble in front of Southern's goal but Stone was able to fight through the crowd, find the ball and put in the back of the net. Thirty four minutes later Silvia Fuentes scored her 11th goal of the season on a pass from Rachel Harker. Harker found Fuentes on the run by slotting a through ball behind Southern's back four. The first half ended with the Lady Lions up 2-0.

In the second half,  the Lady Lions scored the exclamation goal in the 75th minute when Perri Weslosky slotted home her 5th goal of the season on a pass from Silvia Fuentes. It was another through ball from Fuentes that found Weslosky on hte run down the right side of the field. Meaghan Storie picked up her leading 6th shutout of the season.

The Lady Lions improve to 12-4-1 for the season and 8-0 in conference play. This is the second straight year they have won the Western Division Title.

“We played well today," said Head Coach Roberto Mazza. “We have been doing the necessary things to win us games. Defensively, we have been a rock wall and they all work very well together. In Midfield, they fight each game and never stop working. Up top, they have been very dangerous and dynamic. I was very pleased with Taryn Wright today. I felt that she gave use a lot of energy in midfield," added Mazza.

This game was also the Lady Lions pink game in support of breast cancer awareness. An information booth was set up to disseminate brocures and to take donations. At the game, the Lady Lions raised $50 for a breast cancer foundation. The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Athletic Department and the Women's Soccer team are proud to be supporters of breast cancer awareness and research.
