HUNTSVILLE, Ala.- The University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff football team suffered a heart breaking loss on Saturday night as they let a 20 point fourth quarter lead slip away as Alabama A&M claimed a 28-27 win.
 
After dominating the game for three complete quarters the Bulldogs mounted a furious comeback which was capped off with a Deonta Mason touchdown pass to G'Alonzo Milton in the games' final seconds.
 
After taking a commanding 27-7 lead in the third quarter after a Ben Anderson TD toss to T.J. Shelton the Golden Lions offense sputtered during the next three possessions as AAMU forced Arkansas-Pine Bluff into three consecutive three and outs.
 
The Bulldogs subsequently rallied scoring touchdowns on their final three possessions of the contest tallying 21 unanswered points.
 
“This is an extremely disappointing loss for our team but we'll be back,” said UAPB head coach Monte Coleman. “We made uncharacteristic mistakes at very inopportune times and ultimately that's the difference in the game.”
 
Arkansas-Pine Bluff will look to get back on track this upcoming weekend as they travel to Jackson, Miss. to face the Jackson State Tigers. Kickoff is set for 4:00 pm at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
