FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff continued to stack strong indoor results at the Arkansas Invitational, posting 10 top-eight finishes against a deep field and showing balance across the sprints, middle distance and throws.

The Golden Lions were sharp in the field events, led by senior Anthony Fuqua, who turned in a standout runner-up finish in the men's triple jump (2nd, M TJ: 14.94m) while also competing in the horizontal jumps with a solid 12th-place mark in the long jump (M LJ: 6.70m). In the women's throws, Cornelia Watts delivered one of the top performances of the day with a third-place finish in the shot put (W SP: 13.98m) and added another strong effort in the weight throw.

On the track, the Golden Lions' sprint group delivered multiple scorers, highlighted by Nicholas Byrd taking fifth in the men's 60 meters (M 60: 6.86). In the men's 300 meters, Ross Walrond placed fourth (M 300: 33.75) while Jared Sylvester added another top-eight finish in eighth (M 300: 34.22), continuing the Golden Lions' strong presence in the short sprint events.

The middle-distance group added key points and momentum as Genesis Joseph finished eighth in the men's 600 meters (M 600: 1:19.39). In the men's 1000 meters, Don Kasigwa led the way with a sixth-place finish (M 1000: 2:38.58) and Kevin Horns followed with another scorer in eighth (M 1000: 2:44.88). On the women's side, Kris-Ann Plummer put together a big race to take third in the 1000 meters (W 1000: 3:03.34), while Serena Douglas kept the momentum rolling with a fourth-place finish (W 1000: 3:13.43).
