PINE BLUFF, AR. – University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball standout Indiya Bowen continues to make her mark both on and off the court, as the reigning Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Newcomer of the Year has secured a Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) partnership with nationally recognized basketball footwear and apparel brand AND1.
The partnership marks another significant milestone for Bowen, who has quickly established herself as one of the premier players in the SWAC and a rising star in women's college basketball. Known for its deep roots in basketball culture, AND1 provides Bowen with an opportunity to expand her personal brand while representing UAPB on a national platform.
A native of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Bowen enters the 2026-27 season with an impressive collection of accolades following a remarkable debut campaign with the Lady Lions.
During the 2025-26 season, Bowen earned SWAC Newcomer of the Year and First-Team All-SWAC honors after leading the conference in scoring with 14.9 points per game. She also averaged 3.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.9 steals per contest while establishing herself as one of the league's most dynamic offensive threats.
Bowen made an immediate impact in her UAPB debut, pouring in 29 points and grabbing nine rebounds in the Lady Lions' season-opening road victory over Memphis. She continued to deliver throughout the season, including another 29-point performance against Alabama State, 26 points against Alabama A&M and a memorable game-winning shot in a road victory over North Alabama.
Her outstanding performance helped guide UAPB to a 15-win season, a 10-8 conference record and an appearance in the SWAC Women's Basketball Tournament semifinals.
Building on that success, Bowen was recently selected as the 2026-27 SWAC Preseason Player of the Year and earned Preseason First-Team All-SWAC recognition, further solidifying her status as one of the conference's top returning players.
The NIL agreement with AND1 adds another accomplishment to Bowen's growing résumé and highlights the expanding opportunities for student-athletes at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
As Bowen prepares for her senior campaign under head coach Erica Leak, she will look to build on her success and help lead the Lady Lions in their pursuit of a SWAC championship.
The partnership also brings additional national exposure to UAPB women's basketball and showcases the talent, dedication and opportunities available to student-athletes representing the Golden Lions.
Financial terms of the NIL agreement were not disclosed.
