College Station, TX. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's track and field team continues to shine on the national stage, officially qualifying for the 2025 NCAA Division I National Championships, to be held June 11–14 in Eugene, Oregon.
The Golden Lions 4x100-meter relay team delivered a historic performance, clocking a season-best time of 38.96 seconds to earn their spot in the championship field. Their time not only set a new school and Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) record, but also ranks 5th in the NCAA West Region and 10th nationally, an extraordinary accomplishment against elite competition, including Power Five programs.
Sophomore Jordan Pierre added to the Golden Lions' success by qualifying individually in the 400 meters. Pierre placed seventh overall with an impressive time of 45.75 seconds, securing his berth to the national meet.
"This is a proud moment for our program," said Head Coach Chris McCoy. "These young men have worked relentlessly, and now they have a chance to compete among the best in the country on the sport's biggest stage."
UAPB's presence at the NCAA Championships further cements the program's upward trajectory and national relevance in collegiate track and field.
