UAPB Men’s Golf Earns First Invitation to PGA Minority National Men’s Golf Championship in Wisconsin

PINE BLUFF, AR — The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Men's Golf Team, one of the premier HBCU golf programs in the country, has earned its first-ever invitation to compete in the PGA Minority National Championship, taking place May 5–7 in Kohler, Wisconsin.

This historic achievement follows a season of excellence for the Golden Lions, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship. The team will make its national debut on one of golf's biggest collegiate stages, with live coverage on the Golf Channel.

Under the leadership of five-time SWAC Coach of the Year Roger Totten, UAPB completed a strong season, finishing top two in the SWAC standings. At the conference championship—held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley—the Golden Lions posted a team score of +22 over par (299, 303, 284 = 886), narrowly missing a third consecutive title.

"This team has continued to elevate our program's legacy," said Coach Totten. "To earn a spot in the PGA Minority Championship is a true testament to the hard work, talent, and dedication of these young men. We're proud to represent UAPB and HBCU golf on a national stage."

This invitation marks a new milestone in UAPB Golf history, granting the Golden Lions the opportunity to compete alongside the nation's best collegiate minority golf programs and further solidify their rising national reputation.
