#UAPBMensGolf: Golden Lions Learn NCAA Regional Destination During Packed Selection Show Celebration

UAPB Men’s Golf headed to Bryan, Texas, after historic championship season and third NCAA Regional appearance in four years

PINE BLUFF, AR. — Surrounded by a packed house of supporters, alumni, donors, students, and fans inside the newly renovated L.A. Davis Student Union, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's golf team officially learned its postseason destination Wednesday afternoon during the NCAA Men's Golf Selection Show.

The Golden Lions will travel to Bryan, Texas, to compete in the NCAA Bryan Regional at the nationally recognized Traditions Club, hosted by Texas A&M University, May 18-20.

Traditions Club will host its third NCAA Men's Golf Regional after previously serving as a postseason site in 2010 and 2018. UAPB will be among a competitive regional field featuring some of the nation's top programs as the Golden Lions continue one of the most historic stretches in program history.

The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships feature six 54-hole regional tournaments across the country. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at three regional sites, while the remaining three sites will feature 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The top five teams and the low individual not on those advancing teams from each regional will earn a berth into the NCAA Championships Finals.

Wednesday's announcement marked another milestone moment for Head Coach Roger Totten's program, which continues to elevate itself nationally among HBCU and mid-major golf powers.

UAPB earned its place in the NCAA Regional field after delivering a dominant performance at the 2026 Southwestern Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Oxmoor Valley's Ridge Course.

The Golden Lions posted a three-round total of 876 (+12) to secure the conference championship. UAPB opened the tournament with a blistering 287 (-1), followed with a 299 (+11) in the second round before closing with a steady 290 (+2) to hold off strong challenges from Florida A&M and Prairie View A&M.

The championship marked UAPB's third SWAC title in a four-year span, making the Golden Lions the only program in the conference to capture three championships during that stretch after previously winning titles in 2023 and 2024.

The latest title run further solidified UAPB as one of the premier rising forces in HBCU and collegiate golf.

Led by veteran standout Jules De Reu and a deep, experienced lineup, the Golden Lions controlled the leaderboard throughout the championship tournament while showcasing consistency, composure, and championship-level play from start to finish.

The success of the program extends beyond conference championships.

In 2025, UAPB captured the prestigious PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship HBCU National Title, further cementing the Golden Lions' national reputation and establishing what many around the program are now calling a dynasty era for UAPB Men's Golf.

Now, the focus shifts from conference dominance to the national stage as the Golden Lions prepare to compete against some of the country's top programs in Bryan, Texas, with hopes of advancing to the NCAA Championships Finals later this month in Carlsbad, California.
