PINE BLUFF, AR --The UAPB men's basketball team got a 29-point showing from the bench, but fell 76-69 to the Jackson State Tigers at home Thursday.
The Golden Lions had four players score in double figures, led by Doctor Bradley, who had 20 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Quentin Bolton Jr. tacked on 15 points and seven rebounds off the bench and Caleb Jones chipped in as well with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists from the bench.
The UAPB offense was very productive from deep, pouring in nine threes on 24 attempts. Bolton Jr. was the most prolific shooter for the Golden Lions, draining four treys in the contest.
How It Happened
UAPB struggled out of the gate, falling behind 40-20 heading into halftime.
UAPB narrowed its deficit to 69-56 before going on a 7-0 run, finished off by Raphael Dumon's layup, to shrink the deficit to 69-63 with 3:34 to go in the contest. Jackson State responded and outscored the Golden Lions the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 76-69. UAPB took care of business in the paint, recording 26 of its 49 points in the lane.
