#UAPBSoftball: Golden Lions Drop Season Opener to Marist

Stephenville, Texas --The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team dropped their season opener 11-0 against Marist in the Tarleton St. Invitational.

Sophomore Kayla Adams got the ball to start for UAPB and took the loss on the mound.

At the plate, the Lady Lions were paced by junior Ariana Gonzalez, who went 2-for-2 on the day with two doubles.

HOW IT HAPPENED

UAPB managed three chances with runners on third in the shutout, going a total of 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position. The Lady Lions last got a runner on third in the fifth, when junior Ariana made it 60 feet away from scoring with nobody out.

GAME NOTES

» UAPB's power output was led by junior Ariana Gonzalez , who compiled two extra base hits in the ballgame.

The Golden Lions will be back in action, Saturday February 8 against Bucknell.  First pitch is set for 4:45 p.m. CT.
