#UAPBSoftball: Golden Lions Dropped Pair of Road Games

Game 1: Bucknell12  UAPB1  

STEPHENVILLE, TX --
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team dropped a road game on Saturday, falling to the Bucknell Bison by final score of 12-1.

Sophomore Heidi Price got the ball to start for UAPB and took the loss.

Offensively, the Lady Lions were led by junior Naiyestlie Ware, who went 1-for-2 on the day with an RBI.

Game 2: Tarleton 8  UAPB 2 

UAPB Lady Lions got off to a slow start Saturday on game two, falling to the Tarleton State Texans by final score of 8-2.

Junior Danika Bryant started and took the loss in the circle for UAPB.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trailing 5-0, the Lady Lions first put runs on the board in the third inning. UAPB plated two runs when junior Lyric Perry left the yard with freshman Chasney Cooper aboard. The Lady Lions were unable to get any closer, as Tarleton State added three runs to their tally on the way to an 8-2 final.

GAME NOTES

» UAPB's highest scoring inning was the third, when it pushed two runs across.
» UAPB pitchers faced 31 Tarleton State hitters in the game, allowing five ground balls and nine fly balls while striking out three.
» Perry led the Lady Lions at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
