ARKADELPHIA, AR --The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team put together a valiant performance on Sunday, but ultimately came up short, falling to the Ouachita Baptist Tigers by the score of 4-2.
Sophomore Heidi Price got the ball to start for UAPB and took the loss. Sophomore Kayla Adams was a bright spot for the Lady Lions, coming out of the bullpen and throwing five shutout innings, allowing one hit, with one walk and seven strikeouts.
In the batter's box, the Lady Lions were paced by junior Lyric Perry, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a walk and two RBI. Freshman Allyncia King compiled a noteworthy performance at the dish as well, going 1-for-2 with two walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Lions were trailing 4-0 in the fifth inning when they first put runs on the board. Perry drove in two runs for UAPB with a single, that scored sophomore Kayla Adams and freshman Allyncia King . The Lady Lions were unable to get any closer, as neither team scored again in the ballgame.
