PINE BLUFF, AR. – Quion Williams delivered one of the most dominant all-around performances in UAPB history, posting a 29-point, 14-rebound, 18-assist triple-double to lead the Golden Lions to a commanding 138–73 victory at home on Wednesday night.

Williams' triple-double highlighted a record-setting offensive showcase for UAPB, which had three players score more than 20 points and seven players reach double figures.

The Golden Lions were powered inside by Jaquan Scott, who turned in a massive 33-point, 13-rebound double-double, and Trevon Payton, who added 18 points and 11 rebounds. UAPB dominated sharing the basketball as well, finishing with 43 assists on 59 made field goals, with Williams accounting for 18 of those assists.

Defensively, UAPB held the opposition to just 36.5 percent shooting and limited them to only six offensive rebounds, while the Golden Lions controlled the glass with a 61–24 rebounding advantage, including 42 defensive rebounds.


How It Happened
After falling behind 13–9 early, UAPB responded with a 17–0 run sparked by Williams, taking a 26–13 lead with 15:01 left in the first half. The Golden Lions continued to push the pace, attacking the paint for 46 first-half points and stretching their lead to 67–33 at halftime.

UAPB kept its foot on the gas after intermission, extending the lead to 117–63 midway through the second half. A late 11–0 run, capped by a three-pointer from Alex Mirhosseini, pushed the margin to 128–63 with 4:01 remaining. The Golden Lions never looked back, cruising to the 138–73 victory while controlling the paint with 40 second-half points inside.
