PINE BLUFF, AR --The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's basketball team got a 45-point showing from the bench, but fell 81-77 to the Grambling Tigers at home Monday.
The Golden Lions had three players score in double figures, led by Doctor Bradley, who had 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Dante Sawyer added 14 points from the bench and Caleb Jones chipped in as well with 11 points from the bench.
UAPB out-rebounded Grambling 33-29 in Monday's game, led by Bradley's seven boards. The Golden Lions also grabbed 11 offensive rebounds and scored 13 second chance points.
How It Happened
UAPB started out the scoring by going on a 6-0 run, culminating in a bucket from Bradley, to take an early lead with 18:39 left in the first half. The Golden Lions then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 42-37.
Grambling kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 72-60 advantage before UAPB went on a 7-0 run to shrink the deficit to 72-67 with 3:53 to go in the contest. The Golden Lions kept their comeback going, but Grambling managed to hold on for the 81-77 win. UAPB shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting six shots from deep to score 18 of its 40 points.
