OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. --A little bit of history took place on Friday as Danika Bryant put together an outstanding outing on the way to a perfect game no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, leading the UAPB Lady Lions past the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies 11-0 at the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic.
Bryant added her first win of the season to her outstanding performance. The right-hander struck out 11 for UAPB on her way to the record books.
At the plate, the Lady Lions were led by Jada Carhee, who went 3-for-4 on the day with a double and three RBI. Shalin Charles put together a noteworthy performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk and two RBI. Gabriella Belyeu also chipped in for UAPB, putting together one hit in three trips to the plate while adding a double, a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Lions took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. UAPB's offense started clicking and put up 10 runs, including a three-run double off the bat of Carhee and a two-run double from Charles.
The Lady Lions also added a run in the fourth inning to complete their scoring in the ballgame.
