PINE BLUFF, AR. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Athletics held a special stole ceremony on Thursday evening in the Thomas May Field House, honoring 15 graduating student-athletes. The Athletic Department distributed stoles, which will be worn by the student-athletes during the commencement ceremony at the Pine Bluff Convention Center on Saturday, December 14. At least one member from eight different athletic teams will participate in the ceremony.
"Commencement weekend is always one of the most exciting times of the year," said Chris Robinson, Vice Chancellor for Athletics. "It is rewarding to see our student-athletes receive their degrees and to witness their families and friends celebrating this accomplishment. It provides a wonderful opportunity for us to congratulate them and wish them well in the next phase of their lives."
Among the 15 graduates, there are four from football, three from volleyball, three from men's track and field, two from women's basketball, one from softball, one from soccer, and one from baseball.
Additionally, twelve of the student-athletes received a certificate indicating that they will graduate with at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA).
