GRAMBLING, LA -- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff volleyball team lost 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 13-25, 25-16, 7-15) to the Grambling Lady Tigers Thursday on the road at the Fredrick C Hobdy Assembly Center.
The Lady Lions were led by a double-double from Zykia Jones, who registered 11 kills and 10 digs on the day. Ashanti Butler also added 10 kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, MacKenzie McDowell chipped in for with 16 digs to go with five blocks from Marlina Anderson.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Lions opened up an early one set to none lead, winning the first set 25-22. UAPB never trailed by more than five points and grabbed the advantage for good at 12-11 in a set that showcased three lead changes before the Lady Lions took over the lead.
SET 2 | UAPB then dropped the second set 25-19, tying the match at a set apiece. The Lady Lions dropped the first point and never took the lead before dropping the set.
SET 3 | UAPB then dropped their second set in a row, falling behind in the match two sets to one. The Lady Lions fell behind on the first point and never clawed back into the lead before falling in the set 25-13.
SET 4 | UAPB broke their two set losing streak and forced a fifth set with a 25-16 victory in set number four. The Lady Lions led from the first point on in the set to secure the victory. UAPB opened up as much as a 10 point lead at 22-12 before closing out the stanza. UAPB got an standout defensive performance from a front row that blocked nine Grambling attacks in the stanza and capitalized on 12 Grambling attacking errors on the way to victory.
SET 5 | After dropping sets two and three, UAPB won set four, tying things up at 2-2 to force a fifth set, but couldn't complete the comeback, losing the set 15-7 and the match 3-2. The Lady Lions dropped the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way.
