#UAPBFootball Cruise Past North American

PINE BLUFF, Arkansas - 10 different players reached the end zone as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions easily defeated North American Stallions 76-3 on Saturday night at Simmons Bank Field. The triumph improved UAPB's record to 2-0 on the season while the Stallions fell to 0-2.

Skyler Perry led UAPB's passing attack with 212 yards through the air, tossing two touchdowns without throwing an interception.

Jalen Macon led all UAPB rushers with 50 yards in the contest, picking up 25 yards per carry. Johness Davis also added 32 yards on the ground, averaging 10.7 yards per carry.

Maurice Lloyd hauled in three catches for 75 yards and one score. Raequan Prince made his presence felt in the passing game, recording four receptions for 64 yards. UAPB also added 59 yards receiving and one touchdown from Chrysten Cochran in the game.

Kyle Knox paced the Golden Lions defensive effort, collecting three tackles and one interception. Syncere Jones added four tackles, one forced fumble, and one recovered fumble and Anthony Newman had one interception in the win.

The Golden Lions won the turnover battle in Saturday's game, forcing three turnovers while avoiding any turnovers, with UAPB turning those takeaways into 21 points. UAPB also had an outstanding day offensively, racking up 542 total yards, 243 on the ground and 299 through the air, while averaging 9.7 yards per play and out-gaining. UAPB converted on 50 percent of third-down attempts on the day.

Defensively, UAPB did an excellent job restricting the offensive attack, holding North American to 175 total yards. The Golden Lions kept under 150 yards on both the ground and through the air, allowing 32 passing and 143 rushing yards. The secondary stepped up disrupted the passing attack on the way to grabbing two interceptions and breaking up nine North American passes.

How It Happened
UAPB put up 76 points on 12 different scoring plays. The Golden Lions got on the board first, taking the lead for good at 7-0 with 12:52 remaining in the first quarter. Perry found Lloyd on a 47-yard touchdown reception to end a five-play, 75-yard scoring drive. The Golden Lions then rode that lead to victory, increasing their advantage by 66 points along the way.
