HOUSTON, TX - The Lady Lions fell in the second game of the series to Texas Southern 11-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Kirsten Schmidt got the ball to start for UAPB and took the loss. Demetria Golliday led the way offensively for the Lady Lions, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UAPB did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Lady Lions went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the first, when Golliday made it into scoring position with nobody out.

GAME 2 | Texas Southern 10, UAPB 2
HOUSTON, TX - Samaria Jackson went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI for the UAPB Lady Lions in a 10-2 loss to the Texas Southern Lady Tigers on Saturday.
Paola Rodriguez started and took the loss in the circle for UAPB. Remington Martinez put together a standout performance at the plate as well, going 1-for-2 with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Lions got the scoring started early, putting one run on the board in the top of the first inning. UAPB got an RBI single from Remington, scoring Jackson from second base.
The Lady Lions lost the lead they built in the first, but got back on the board in the third trailing 4-1. UAPB picked up a run on Jackson's one-out solo home run, which brought the score to 4-2 in favor of the Lady Tigers. The Lady Lions were unable to get any closer, as Texas Southern added six runs to their tally on the way to a 10-2 final.
