HOUSTON, TX - Sydney Green had everything working on Friday, punching out eight Texas Southern hitters over 6.2 innings of work, but it was not enough as the Lady Lions lost to the Lady Tigers 3-2.
In addition to her eight strikeouts, Green threw 6.2 innings, giving up three runs, two earned, on five hits and walking five for UAPB.
Demetria Golliday led the way offensively for the Lady Lions, going 2-for-4 in the ballgame with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Lions got on the scoreboard first, starting in the fifth inning. Golliday's run-scoring single highlighted a two-run inning for UAPB. The Lady Lions were unable to hold the lead, as Texas Southern scored three times over the remaining two innings to grab the 3-2 win.
