#UAPBSoftball Falls Late In Season Opener To Northwestern State

NATCHITOCHES, La. -- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions softball team held Northwestern State scoreless until the fourth inning and would later fall short 4-0.

Sydney Green got the ball to start for UAPB (0-1), facing 27 batters in seven innings and allowing only seven hits and four runs with a strikeout.

At the plate, the Lady Lions were paced by Alyssa Wesley, who went 1-for-3 on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED

UAPB held the Lady Demons scoreless up to the fourth inning. Northwestern State tacked on four runs in the fourth inning that gave them the lead and later victory.

GAME NOTES

» Sydney Green faced 27 Northwestern State hitters in the game, forcing four ground outs and 12 fly outs while striking out one.
