PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS -- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Golden Lions fell 55-24 to Prairie View A&M at home Saturday afternoon at Simmons Bank Field.
Kayvon Britten led all UAPB rushers with 87 yards and one touchdown in the contest, picking up 4.8 yards per carry. Skyler Perry also added 30 yards on the ground.
Raequan Prince reeled in one catch for 52 yards.
Gran Ewell Jr. showed out for the Golden Lions defense with 12 tackles and Tayvo Hardwick had in the loss.
Both UAPB and Prairie View A&M forced one turnover in Saturday's contest, with UAPB turning that takeaway into seven points.
How It Happened
UAPB scored first and jumped out to a 3-0 lead on the game's first drive.Another UAPB score then expanded the lead to 10-0.
Prairie View A&M fought back to take a 28-10 lead before UAPB put a touchdown on the board to cut into the lead with :37 left in the second quarter and make it a 28-17 game.Prairie View A&M scored to increase its lead to 55-17 before the UAPB scored again to narrow the gap and make it a 55-24 game. Neither team scored again in the game.
