#UAPBVOLLEYBALL DROP TWO GAMES; AKAMINE NAMED TO ALL-TOURNEY TEAM

The Lady Lions fell in two games on Saturday afternoon in the Billiken Invitational.

UAPB loss to Saint Louis 3-1 (20-25, 26-24, 17-25, 18-25) and Arkansas State 3-0 (25-22, 25-9, 25-17).

Zykia Jones led the Lady Lions in kills in the match against Saint Louis with 15 kills. Nyah Ellis led the game in digs with 27. Leading in assists was Nikole Akamine with 18 while adding eight digs.

In the game against Arkansas State, Destiny Thomas and Jones paced the Lady Lions with five kills a piece. Akamine had 11 assists to lead UAPB, while Ellis led the game in digs for the third straight match with 21 digs.

The Lady Lions combined for 62 kills through both games.

Akamine was named to the Billiken Invitational All-Tournament Team after her overall performance. 

UAPB will return to action Friday, Sep. 10th in Beaumont, TX for the Lamar Invitational.
