The Lady Lions fell in two games on Friday afternoon in the Lamar Invitational.
UAPB loss to Lamar 3-1 (25-22, 15-25, 21-25, 16-25) and Northwestern State 3-0 (20-25, 19-25, 22-25).
Freshman Jayden James led the Lady Lions in kills with 10, in the match against Lamar. Kaila Robinson and Zykia Jones added to the kill total with eight and seven kills, respectively.
Nikole Akamine had a team-high of 19 assists to go along with 12 digs in the match. Vanessa Collins added 16 assists to the Lady Lions total.
Nyah Ellis led the game in digs with 19, and Maria Ramos led the game in blocks with five.
In the game against Northwestern State, Robinson and Jones tallied nine kills a piece to pace the Lady Lions.
Leading the game in blocks was Robinson with three, followed by Kori Diego with two.
Akamine had 20 assists to lead the Lady Lions, while both Ellis and Robinson both posted a game-high 21 digs.
The Lady Lions combined for 79 kills through both games.
UAPB will return to action Saturday, Sep. 11th against Little Rock at 10 A.M. to close out the Lamar Invitational.
