#UAPBAthletics Partners with Cricket Wireless for Community Giveback

WHO: University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Athletic Director Chris Robinson, Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington, Director of Parks and Recreation Samuel Glover, (UAPB) Director of Community Outreach & Assistant Director of Strategic Communication Cameo Stokes, and (UAPB) Assistant Director of Student Athlete Academic Services Juwan Parker

WHAT: UAPB and Cricket Wireless are teaming up with the City of Pine Bluff Parks and Recreation and the Merrill Center to enhance community programming in the areas of health and wellness, financial literacy and S.T.E.M. programs. Cricket Wireless is supporting with a generous gift to help continue these valuable programs. The Merrill Center was selected base on the needs of the community and the access to limited resources.

Cricket Wireless is one of the primary sponsors of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). The partnership between Cricket Wireless and the (SWAC) focuses on establishing meaningful community initiatives within the (SWAC) footprint. Specifically, these initiatives will look to activate and amplify grassroots efforts, such as youth outreach and mentoring programs that are available to student-athletes and administrators from across the conference.
