#UAPBTrack&Field Kick Off Outdoor Season At The Richard Martin Jr. Invitational

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff men's and women's track and field teams are back in action this weekend for their first meet of the outdoor season at the Richard Martin Jr. Invitational in Conway, Ark. The meet will take place at the UCA Bill Stephens Track Complex beginning at 5 P.M. on Friday and 9 A.M Saturday.

In February, both teams finished in the top five of the indoor Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. The meet will be UAPB's first outdoor competition since 2019 after the 2020 season was canceled before it got underway due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are excited about our first meet, and we want to get our legs back in competition mode," said UAPB head coach Christopher McCoy. During our last three weeks of practice, the team has been training hard and are excited to start the outdoor season."

Both programs will be competing in a mixture of events starting with the field competitions, followed by the running events.
