#UAPBWomensHoops Continue Win Streak in Blowout Win Over Arkansas Baptist

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team captured their third straight win after defeating Arkansas Baptist College 96-27 on Monday night.

It was smooth sailing for most of the games for the Lady Lions, jumping out to a 37-5 lead at the end of the first quarter.

There was plenty of rotation going on for the Lady Lions, as more than half of the roster had accumulated a field goal to stretch the lead to 57-17 at halftime.

The domination continued for the Lady Lions outscoring Arkansas Baptist 39-10 in the second half to claim their victory.

Head Coach Dawn Thornton continues to weather the storm leading her crew to their third straight win, coming off a tournament championship.

"It feels good to be in the winning column," said Thornton behind the win. "Coming off a big tournament win during the holiday break gave us a boost of momentum coming into this game. Had the opportunity of watching my players that haven't gotten many minutes, to see what they can do to contribute to this program. They deserve that opportunity and I was excited for them. We earned the win and now it's time to look forward to the next one."

Khadijah Brown had a perfect night for the Lady Lions with 14 points to lead the way shooting 7-7 from the field. Brown added 10 rebounds to record her third double-double of the season.

Bryana Langford came off the bench and poured in 14 points, and grabbed six rebounds.

Zaay Green finished with 11 points, five steals, and six assists, and Maya Peat flirted with a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.
