The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff soccer team competed in their last home game of the season against Alabama State, dropping a 3-1 decision Sunday evening at Pumphrey Stadium.
Alabama St. jumped on the board scoring at the 30-minute mark to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Hornets added to their lead at the 54-minute mark to go into halftime with a 2-0 information.
In the second half, Alabama State scored another goal to add to their lead 3-0, before the Lady Lions responded late with a goal from Natalie Freeman after an assist from Jackie Stokes to cut the deficit to two (3-1) before the Lady Hornets captured the win on the road.
"I feel like we gave up two goals in the first half, but in the end, we showed that we are dangerous and can score," said Head Coach Erik Solberg. "Now it's time we have to go in and win our last two games to make it to the tournament," said Coach Solberg.
The Lady Lions will be back in play on the road to take on Alcorn State in Lorman, MS, on October 22nd.
