#UAPBWomensHoops Looks To Bounce Back Against Alabama A&M

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's basketball team will look to bounce back from its first Southwestern Athletic Conference loss Monday in a 4 p.m home game vs. Alabama A&M.

Out of an abundance of caution due to rising cases of Covid-19, no fans will be allowed into the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

The Lady Lions (2-6, 1-1 SWAC) lost at home Saturday to Alabama St. 87-79. UAPB had three players score in double figures, led by Kaila Walker, who had 20 points with five rebounds and three steals. Khadijah Brown posted her second straight double-double and fourth this season with 19 points and 13 rebounds, and Jazzeem Bethea added 10 points and three steals off the bench.

Late in the first half and into the second half, UAPB went on a 19-0 run to take a five-point lead at 47-42 in the third quarter. However, Alabama State regained the lead late in the period and never trailed again.

Alabama A&M (3-2, 1-1) is coming off a 65-41 win Saturday at Mississippi Valley St. Deshawna Harper entered the weekend leading four AAMU players in double figures, averaging 14.3 ppg (9th/SWAC). Dariauna Lewis averages a double-double with 14.0 ppg (11th/SWAC) and 10.8 reb (2nd in SWAC) and 2.0 blks (t-3rd/SWAC).
