Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Soccer Falls To Nicholls St.

THIBODAUX, La. - The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women's soccer team fell 5-0 on the road at Nicholls Sunday afternoon. 

The Colonels scored two goals in the first half before the game was delayed 30 minutes due to lightning in the area. Nicholls would go on to score three goals in the second half to end the game.

"After the rain delay, we came out a little more aggressive and created some good shots," said first-year UAPB head coach Jeremy Winzer. "We had some players that really stepped up, and the kids didn't give up. Overall, I saw some good things from this match."

Freshman Lizeth Martinez led the Lady Lions (1-3) with two shots, including one on goal late in the second half.

UAPB returns to action for a two-game road trip when they travel to Jarvis Christian Thursday, Sept. 5 for a 2 p.m. match and Sam Houston Friday, Sept. 6 for a 6:30 p.m. match.
