UAPB Softball Drops Two Versus Alabama St In Conference Play

Pine Bluff, Ark. The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball team dropped two games 10-0 and 9-1 to Alabama St. to lose the series two games to one Saturday evening at the Torii Hunter Baseball/Softball Complex. 
 
Game two: Alabama St. 10 UAPB 0:  In game two UAPB got off to a slow start compared to Friday 7-6 victory in game one as Alabama St. Lady Hornets plated in 10 runs on 12 hits, four runs in the first two innings to defeat the Lady Lions 10-0 in five innings. 

Shanice Akins, Kameron Graham, and Alexandria Taylor each had one hit apiece for UAPB.
 
Game three: Alabama St. 9 UAPB 1: The Lady Hornets jumped out to an early lead scoring seven of their nine runs in the first three innings to defeat the Lady Lions 9-1 in game three. 

The Lady Lions responded in the bottom of the second inning off three straight singles by Samantha Harris who was batted in by Faith Santa Cruz, but it was not enough to slow down the Lady Hornets. 

Samantha Harris led UAPB going 2-for-3 with one run, followed by Faith Santa Cruz with the team only RBI. 

Karia Hall finished the game going 6.0 innings with two strikeouts.

The Lady Lions will be off next weekend but will be back at home to host Southern U. in a three-game series starting April 5th at 1:00 PM at the Torii Hunter Baseball/Softball Complex.
